As lead guitarist for the legendary rock band “The Cars”, Elliot has sold more than 30 million records, played sold-out arenas the world over, and contributed unforgettable hooks and memorable solos to the band’s numerous chart-topping singles.
2011 was a landmark year for Cars fans: the band released their first new album in 23 years, “Move Like This,” with all the surviving original members. It debuted at #7 on the Billboard album chart, and the tour dates sold out in 20 minutes.
In 2013, Elliot’s new band, “Elliot Easton’s Tiki Gods,” released their first CD, “Easton Island.” The band specializes in the instrumental form known as “Exotica”. The band’s music incorporates many different strains and influences: John Barry’s spy music, Mancini’s crime jazz, the exotic sounds of Les Baxter, Ennio Morricone, Jerry Goldsmith, surf music, martini lounge, and space age, merged with the lush, romantic sophistication of Hollywood 60’s movie soundtracks. Elliot has most recently recorded with Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Coachella breakout, Lissie, and has a track on the forthcoming “Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra & Friends play the rolling Stones songbook Volume 2” compilation.
Well respected in the guitar community, Elliot is an enthusiastic fan of the instrument itself and has been honored with five different signature model guitars. New for 2013, Elliot has designed the “TikiBird” for Gibson Guitars. It is based on the Firebird model platform, but incorporates a few new twists that reflect Elliot’s playing preference.
His other signature models have included a an 80’s Kramer EE Pro model, in 2000, a beautiful signature model Gretsch guitar, In 2006 he designed two incredible new models that are currently in production: a gorgeous new Gibson “Tiki” model SG Custom and a Martin acoustic guitar, which Elliot assures us are the finest he’s ever played!

For 10 years, Elliot has toured and recorded as lead guitarist for “Creedence Clearwater Revisited.”
Elliot toured in 1991 with “Hall and Oates” on their acoustic tour, and recorded “Philadelphia Freedom” with them for the Elton John tribute album “Two Rooms”.
He also performed on the very first MTV “Unplugged” show, backing artists such as Jules Shear, Difford and Tilbrook (Squeeze), Syd Straw and others.
Elliot was part of the band for the “A tribute to John Lennon”, concert at the Tokyo Dome, backing Linda Ronstadt, Peter Asher, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon and many others.
Elliot Recorded with Jerry Lee Lewis on his “Youngblood” album for Elektra records.
Elliot has done much recording with the legendary Brian Wilson, playing on his first solo album as well as many other recordings. He has also performed in concert with Brian.
Elliot has delved into film work, providing the end title track for Quentin Tarantino’s film “Jackie Brown”. That song, “Monte Carlo Nights”, was also used in a key scene in the film. He has also done music supervision for films, including a Sundance festival award winning film, “Corn Dog Man”.
As a producer, Elliot has recorded albums with Amy Rigby, The Ziggens and others.
Elliot has contributed an “all acoustic orchestra” track for the upcoming cd “My Favorite Martin” to celebrate Martin Guitars’ 175th anniversary, as well as several other CD’s for Solid Air Records.
